Due to the server outage and adjustments to the economy of Grand Touring 7, Polyphony Digital President Kazunori Yamauchi apologized to the community. The executive acknowledged that a recent patch update caused “frustration and confusion” among users of the driving simulator.
“We know that this is not the experience of Grand Touring What are you waiting for and we will make a goodwill gesture in the form of an unpaid credit package of 1 million Cr. available for those players who may have been affected, ”he announced in the playstation blog.
The reward will be available “soon” in the accounts of those who have purchased a digital or physical copy of the GT7 for PS4 or PS5 before Friday, March 25, 2022. The benefit can be claimed until April 25.
Yamauchi noted that the patch update was intended to “correct an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a portion of the world circuit events. But in order to restore the intended balance and deliver more accurate rewards based on time investment and completion, the entire reward system had to be recalculated.”
To improve the experience of its users, it announced the implementation of a new patch in early April 2022. “The number of events will be increased and we will restore the reward system with greater balance throughout the game to benefit all players” , he pointed.
Among other news, Grand Touring 7 will feature increased rewards and better deals on Used and Legend cars, as well as eight new drag race events and upper limit of unpaid credits in player wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
