Thirteen injured by an explosion in a chemical waste company in Tarragona

Thirteen people have been injured this Friday due to an explosion during a fire in the parking lot of a chemical waste treatment company, in an industrial park in L’Arboç (Tarragona).

The firefighters of Catalonia have reported through their Twitter account that the fire affects five trucks, according to the first information.

The Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) have reported through their official Twitter account that three of these people are in serious condition due to burns, so they will be transferred to the Vall d’Hebron Hospital, nine have minor injuries, and one is receiving a medical evaluation. In addition, they have warned that 10 ground units, two medicalized helicopters and three logistics units have been activated.

It is a waste treatment company where there are oils, solvents and other derived materials, the Bombers de la Generalitat also explained in a tweet.
