It’s 17 years since Youtube He uploaded his first video and the platform has become one of the people’s favorites, including several redesigns throughout its history.
And now Google has introduced a new change, minimizing distractions for users and focusing more on video.
Neal Mohan, Product Manager of Youtube comments that, “color was a key issue for us during the development phase. We wanted to add vibrancy to our apps without detracting from viewers’ habits, whether they’re enjoying their recommended videos or searching for new content. Using dynamic color sampling, Ambient Mode introduces a subtle effect so that the app’s background color adapts to match the video. We were inspired by the light that screens give off in a dark room and wanted to recreate the effect so that viewers would be directly drawn to the content and the video would be even more focused on our watch page. This feature will be available on web and mobile in dark theme.”
Mohan further commented that “Now, we’re making the watch page easier on the eyes: YouTube links in video descriptions will change to buttons, and frequent actions like likes, shares, and downloads are now formatted. to minimize distractions. The subscribe button is also getting a facelift: the new shape and high contrast make it really stand out, and although it’s no longer red, it’s easier to find and much more accessible to everyone, both on watch pages and on homepages. channel pages.
Plus with pinch to zoom, you can now easily zoom in and out of a video while on your iOS or Android phone. And when you let go, the video stays zoomed so you can enjoy the rest of the video in greater detail.
