Three years in prison for Little Nicolás for posing as a high position

Francisco Nicolás Gómez Iglesias, known as Little Nicolás, has been sentenced to three years in prison for having impersonated a position related to the Vice Presidency of the Government and the Royal Household on his trip to Ribadeo (Lugo) to meet with the president of Alsa in August 2014.

In the sentence, to which Efe has had access, the seventeenth section of the Provincial Court of Madrid condemns him to 9 months in prison as the author of a crime of usurpation of public functions with the analogical mitigating of psychic anomaly and undue delays, and another two years and 3 months in prison for a crime of active bribery, in which the same mitigating factors concur.

At the same time, he has been acquitted of the crimes of falsehood and embezzlement of public funds of which the Prosecutor’s Office also accused him, which asked for 7 years in prison.

In his statement at trial, Little Nicholas explained that he did not pretend to be an authority but only pretended to be an important person in order to feel “powerful.”
