Tianyi No 1: the unhackable Chinese cell phone with quantum security | Digital Trends Spanish

The telecommunications company China Telecom threw a cell phone that they qualified as “unhackable” and also with security standards quantum and SIM card to encrypt calls. The model was named Tianyi No 1 2022.

The telecom giant and startup QuantumCTeck established a joint venture in 2021 to develop quantum-based communication.

Unlike traditional cryptography, the technology uses single photons in quantum superposition states whereby the key is embedded to ensure unconditional security between distant parties.

Quantum superposition is a fundamental principle of quantum mechanics, which states that, like waves in classical physics, two or more quantum states can be added together.

The communication is therefore “unhackable” as any attempt to intercept the key would be immediately known to both the sender and the intended recipient.

“When a user starts a chat with quantum security, a random secret key will be generated to verify their identity,” said Zhang Rutong, an engineer at QuantumCTeck. “After verification, the quantum network will generate a new key in real time to encrypt the voice data.”

“The key is randomly generated, difficult to crack, and discarded immediately after calling,” Zhang added.

Characteristics of Tianyi No 1 2022

The Tianyi No 1 is equipped with UNISOC T7510 5G chip, has an octa-core CPU is a quad-core A75 + quad-core A55, and the GPU is a PowerVR GM 9444.

It is equipped with a 6.5-inch water drop screen with HD + resolution. The device includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is available in 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of optional storage. It has a built-in 5100mAh battery while the phone runs on Android Pie OS.
