The ‘Red Devils’ of Toluca came back to beat the ‘Cañoneros’ of Mazatlán 2-1, on Friday in a match on the third day of the Clausura-2022 tournament of Mexican soccer.
At minute 28, the Venezuelan Eduard Bello connected a frontal shot almost over the line of the small area of Toluca to mark the 1-0 of the ‘Cañoneros’.
The 1-1 of the ‘Red Devils’ fell to 68 with a half-turn shot from the Argentine Alexis Canelo inside the area.
The 2-1 reached 80 when the Uruguayan Leonardo Fernández took a penalty. Uruguayan goalkeeper Nicolás Vikonis covered the shot, but with his legs he sent the ball to the bottom of his goal.
With its second victory of the tournament, Toluca reached six points; Mazatlan suffered its second defeat and was left without units with a pending game.
The day began on Thursday at the Alfonso Lastras stadium where the ‘Bravos’ from Juárez reached six points after beating Atlético San Luis 1-0, who suffered their third consecutive loss.
This Saturday in the continuation of the third date, the Atlas champion directed by Diego Cocca will visit America de Santiago Solari at the Azteca stadium.
Due to an outbreak of seven infections on their campus, the Tijuana ‘Xoloitzcuintles’ postponed their Friday away game against Puebla at the Cuauhtémoc stadium. The new date and time are yet to be defined.
