What happened today:
“Impulsive, mentally unstable, and unbalanced.” That’s how documents believed to have been leaked from the Kremlin described former President Donald Trump. The documents also appear to show that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally supported Moscow’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, The Guardian reported.
Trained by the US military. A “small number” of Colombians detained in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse received US military training, the Pentagon told The Washington Post. Haitian police have said that 26 Colombians and two Haitian Americans are among the suspects in Moïse’s assassination.
A sobering photograph. Moïse’s wife, who was left critically injured during the July 7 assassination of her husband, tweeted photos showing herself in a Florida hospital bed. “Thank you for the team of guardian angels who helped me through this terrible time. With your gentle touch, kindness and care, I was able to hold on,” she wrote.
Twiddling his thumbs? Jared Kushner said Trump put former Vice President Mike Pence in charge of the US’s coronavirus response because “he didn’t have anything else to do,” a new book reportedly claims. The book details an interaction between Kushner and former Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar at the end of February 2020.
Family first. Ashton Kutcher said he sold his ticket for a Virgin Galactic flight at the urging of his wife, Mila Kunis. The actor and venture capitalist said Wednesday that he had reserved a seat on one of the company’s suborbital flights years ago. Kutcher and Kunis have two kids together: Wyatt, age 6, and Dimitri, age 4.
That’s all for now. See you tomorrow.
