Toyota recalls bZ4X electric car due to wheel failure | Digital Trends Spanish

Avoiding a bigger problem is what you want Toyota when it decided to withdraw the bZ4X electric car from the market, which was released a little over two months ago and is one of the pillars of the Japanese brand’s electromobility agenda. All due to a fault in one of the wheels, which could come off.

Toyota Motor Corp. said Friday that the cause is still under investigation, but the entire wheel could come off, risking an accident.

“Until the remedy is available, no one should drive these vehicles,” the company said in a statement.

Among the vehicles subject to the latest recall, some 2,200 were destined for Europe, 270 for North America, 112 for Japan and 60 for the rest of Asia, according to Toyota. They occurred between March and June.

The “bz” in the recalled model name, as well as others in the works, represents a “beyond zero” series, which includes sport utility vehicles of all sizes, trucks and sports cars, according to Toyota.
