Truecallar launches Open Doors feature for secure conversations | Digital Trends Spanish

truecallerthe communications platform that lets you know who is calling you by phone, launched a new application for secure audio conversationsprotected and private: Open doors. The app is the fruit of months of hard work by a dedicated international team from Stockholm and India.

Open doors It will be completely free to use and will be available globally on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app works seamlessly on both smartphone platforms.

“Because Truecaller has been in business for 13 years, we have spent a lot of time learning how people communicate,” said Nami Zarringhalam, co-founder of True Software Scandinavia AB. “Our new Open Doors app was born from a simple question: How can we help people make new connections without being intrusive? And this is what we want to do: unite the world using the most natural form of communication, our voices”Zarringhalam explains.

How does it work Open doors:

Open doors has a simple onboarding process. If you are already a Truecaller user, you can log in with just one tap. If you are not a Truecaller user, your phone number will be verified by missed call or OTP. The app only needs two permissions: contacts (so you can share Open doors or connect with people in your contacts who also have Open doors) and phone permission (needed to have audio conversations). Participants in a conversation cannot see each other’s phone numbers.

As an Open Doors user, you are in full control at all times. You can start a conversation and end it at will. Your friends can join conversations when they get a notification or by clicking a link you share. From its launch, the application interface will be available in English, Hindi, Spanish and French, and more languages will be added later as users demand it.

Once your friend joins the conversation, their friends will also be invited. Through the network effect, a large number of people can instantly join together. The conversations are real-time and moderated by the community, just like Truecaller. They are not stored anywhere and no one can listen to them without your knowledge. Participants will be responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment during conversations.

As the application receives feedback from users, Open doors will continue to innovate and add more features. Some innovations are already in the works, thanks to a small test group, like the ability to establish a closed circle of contacts (so that others in your contacts who have Open doors don’t always get a notification when you start a conversation) and the ability to react to what people say and fine-grain control over how the app notifies you of new conversations.
