Tumblr Accepts Nudity Again, But Not Porn | Digital Trends Spanish

It was in 2018 when Tumblr completely changed its terms of use, banning any type of NSFW and adult content, including nudity, pornography and erotica. This caused it to gradually begin to lose users to the detriment of other platforms such as Reddit.

Now the website has updated their community patterns so that the naked human form is allow one more time. Under its new policy, users can post nude images and videos, as well as mature and sexually themed text, but still cannot post visual depictions of sexually explicit acts or any content with an overt focus on genitalia.

In its full Community Guidelines pageTumblr explained that by “visual representations,” it means images, videos, GIFs, drawings, CGI, and any other type of visual media. Artworks considered historically significant are an exemption, as long as they are properly labeled. Nudity and sexually themed content now allowed under the new policy will also have to be tagged so users can filter it out.

In addition to the continued ban on visual depictions of sexually explicit acts, users can’t post links to adult affiliate networks or anything that promotes escort or erotic services. They are also not allowed to post images with extreme violence and blood or any type of content that promotes pedophilia, including images of children when the “intention of the blog is sexually suggestive.” Any blog that violates those rules will be removed. Tumblr also admits that the list is not exhaustive and that further interpretation is up to the company.
