The Ak Party, the ruling party of Turkey, held its first metaverse meeting on Monday in which the future regulation of cryptocurrencies was discussed.
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) held its first meeting in the metaverse, Cointelegraph Turkey reported. The virtual meeting was attended by TBMM group vice presidents Mahir Ünal and Mustafa Elitaş, along with Ömer Öİleri, Ak Party vice president responsible for information and communication technologies.
Physically, Elitaş attended the meeting from the parliament building, while Ünal and İleri were at the Akk Party (AKP) headquarters. The regulation of cryptocurrencies was the highlight of the meeting, Ünal told state news agency AA, adding that crypto assets require both financial and legal regulations.
