Two Burgos towns evacuated due to a fire in the Sabinares del Arlanza Natural Park

The towns of Quintanilla del Coco and Santibáñez del Val have been evacuated due to the fire in Burgos. As reported by the regional government through Twitter, an Advanced Command Post has been sent to provide operational support in the extinction work. Both municipalities belong to the Sabinares del Arlanza-La Yecla Natural Park, where there are the ruins of the monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza, Covarrubias and the monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos and the Sad Hill cemetery of ‘The good, the ugly and the bad’, among others.

The Junta de Castilla y León has decreed this afternoon the level 2 of danger in the Infocal the fire in Quintanilla del Coco (Burgos), where aerial and terrestrial means work, according to the regional Executive on its social networks.

Specifically, the device is made up of a technician, three environmental agents, five helicopters, two cargo planes, one coordination plane, four helicopter brigades, a reinforcement brigade, three ground crews, two fire engines and a bulldozer.

In the province, and at the same time, another fire has also started in Cubillo del Campo.

In Ávila, level 1 of danger has also been declared in the San Juan de la Nava fire, because it is expected that more than 12 hours will be necessary to control the fire.

In the forest fire De Montes de Valdueza (León), the situation is very similar to that of Saturday, with some small reproduction suffocated in the almost 70 km perimeter of the fire and the 1,435 hectares assessed, which have not increased for 3 days. Level 2 is maintained preventively due to the dry storms with wind forecast for this afternoon, reports the Territorial Delegation of León. Two helicopters are currently cooling the area and the perimeter.
