Two victims of the 9/11 attack identified 20 years later

The New York forensic authorities have reported that two other victims of the September 11 attack have been identified twenty years later. The New York Coroner’s Office has identified Dorothy Morgan, an insurance employee from the town of Hempstead, and a man, whose relatives have asked keep anonymity such as fatalities number 1,646 and 1,647 of the terrorist attack that killed 2,753 people.

“Twenty years ago, we made a promise to the families of the victims of the World Trade Center to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to identify your loved ones, and with these two new ones, we continue to fulfill that sacred sacred obligation, “said New York City Coroner’s Director, Dr. Barbara A. Sampson, in a statement.

“No matter how long since September 11, 2001, we will never forget it, and we are committed to using all the tools at our disposal to ensure that all those who disappeared can be reunited with their families,” he stressed.

The identification of these people, the first since October 2019, has been possible thanks to DNA testing. In the case of Morgan, who was 47 years old at the time of the attack, his remains were found in 2001, while those of the man who remains anonymous were found in 2001, 2002 and 2006.
