The United Nations Children’s Fund has called for safeguards for children to be built into child online protection initiatives, citing the financial and exploitation threats posed by unregulated cryptocurrency markets.
UNICEF’s “Outlook for Children in 2022” report, which examines the impact of global trends on children, forecasts increased adoption of cryptocurrencies by the population, “demonstrating both the promise of greater financial inclusion such as the need for new safeguards for children.”
