US Bank has launched the Smart Assistant own with a version in Spanish. SmartAssistantnow they will be able to do dozens of things, such as check balance and transactions, transfer and send money, track their credit score, lock and unlock card, make payments, and do a quick search and complete many other functions, simply by speaking on the smartphone in Spanish.

“The Intelligent Assistant is the first Spanish-language virtual assistant of its kind in the United States, offering Spanish-speaking customers the best US Bank tools for digital banking,” said Dominic Venturo, chief digital officer for US Bank. “This is not only based on US Bank’s commitment to access through Access Commitment (in English), which has a long-term focus on helping our diverse clients build wealth, but also demonstrates our continued emphasis on putting the customer experience first by creating new digital tools that enable our clients bank your way, anytime, anywhere.”

The Intelligent Assistant was launched with the experience of Spanish speakers, and Hispanic employees from the US Bank’s Nosotros Latinos Business Resource Group helped test it, thereby ensuring that customers always experience the correct use of language in its proper context. The creators and designers of US Bank took great care to ensure accuracy, as well as consistent tone and nomenclature.

“Translation applications sometimes have difficulty deciphering words with more than one meaning, such as the English word ‘balance’ (‘balance’ or ‘balance’ in Spanish). Are we talking about your balance or how much money is in your account?” said Richard Weeks, head of conversational capabilities and experiences at US Bank. “Our software engineers solved that problem through a hybrid approach using smart technology, natural language processing, and real-time interpretation.”

“Sometimes language can be a barrier to accessing best-in-class financial services, and US Bank is focused on removing barriers,” said Ramiro Padilla Klein, vice president of US Bank’s Hispanic segment strategy. “The Intelligent Assistant is an innovative and industry-first technology that shows Latinos and Hispanic Americans that we are here to help them. They can ask questions confidently and in their preferred language with this new financial tool.”
