VIDEO | The ‘meteorite’ that amazed the networks was actually the remains of a Chinese rocket

What it seems, is not always. In the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, a row of fireballs could be seen slowly crossing the sky, especially in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, Andalusia and North Africa. Many people came to think that it was a meteorite that was coming towards Earth. There were even those who claimed that it was a comet approaching our atmosphere.

Actually, it was about the re-entry into our sky of part of the Chinese CZ-2F rocket, which was burning up in the atmosphere. The ‘Space Frontier’ agency had warned hours before that the pieces of the spaceship could be seen in the Spanish sky between 00:27 and 00:37 hours.

Most of the testimonies came from Seville and Malaga, although this phenomenon could also be seen from places further north, such as Toledo, Madrid and even Valladolid.

The phenomenon occurred as a result of the re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere of one of the stages of the Chang Zheng 2F (CZ-2F) rocket. It was launched by the Chinese Space Agency on June 5 within the Shenzhou 14 mission, which is the ninth manned space mission of the Asian country. Your goal is to complete the construction of your space station.
