Apple is aware that it must further diversify the production of its devices, especially due to the constant internal noise in China, for which emblematic products such as macbook and the Apple Watch will now be made in Vietnam.
So I let you know the publication Asian Nikkei: “Apple suppliers Luxshare Precision Industry and Foxconn have started trial production of the Apple Watch in northern Vietnam with the aim of producing the device outside of China for the first time.”
The specialized outlet further added that, “Apple has also continued to move iPad production to Vietnam after COVID-related lockdowns in Shanghai caused massive supply chain disruptions. China’s BYD was the first to help with this change, though sources told Nikkei Asia that Foxconn, too, is now helping build more iPads in the Southeast Asian nation. Apple is also in talks with suppliers to build test production lines for its HomePod smart speakers in Vietnam.”
“AirPods, Apple Watch, HomePod and more… Apple has big plans in Vietnam aside from iPhone manufacturing,” said one of the people with direct knowledge of the situation. “Components for MacBooks have become more modularized than in the past, making it easier to produce laptops outside of China. But how to make it cost competitive is another challenge.”
