Vivo arrives in Mexico with three mid-range cell phones: V21, Y20 and Y11s | Digital Trends Spanish

As anticipated a few weeks ago, the Chinese manufacturer Vivo arrived this Thursday, July 15, with three mid-range cell phones in different price categories. These are the V21, Y20 and Y11s phones.

The most advanced of the trio is the V21 and it should not be confused with the V21 5G that debuted in Spain, a country where the brand also recently arrived. The latter is compatible with the fifth generation of mobile phone technologies, while the other falls a notch down only in this regard.

Vivo has a network of 10 research and development centers, five production centers and a base of 400 million users worldwide. So the expectations regarding his arrival in Mexico are high.


It’s about a smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 800U eight-core processor. In connectivity, it will have to settle for GigaRed 4.5G, offered by the local operator Telcel.

In the multimedia section, the Vivo V21 integrates a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2,404 x 1,080 pixels). Its refresh rate is 90 Hz (it updates your image 90 times in one second).

In addition to its 8 GB of RAM, the team considers 128 GB of storage, enough for its own content and that downloaded from different platforms. streaming.

Regarding its optics, it incorporates a triple rear camera, which is commanded by a 64 megapixel main sensor, while the one dedicated to the selfies it is not far behind, since it is 44 megapixels.

But not only that, the front camera includes optical image stabilization and a dual on-screen flash to enhance those selfies taken in low light.

Other outstanding specifications are the 4,000 mAh battery and 33-watt fast charge (FlashCharge), which ensures 63 percent of its capacity in just 30 minutes.

The first thing that stands out from the manufacturer of this cell phone is its 5,000 mAh battery, although it does not give references regarding its charge. The screen is called Halo FullHD of 6.51 inches and with HD + resolution (1,600 x 720 pixels).

Regarding the design, Vivo refers that its body adapts to the users’ hands perfectly. While its performance is in charge of the Snapdragon 460 processor (also included in the OnePlus Nord N100) and 4 GB RAM; its storage is 64 GB.

Its features are completed with a side fingerprint reader (response of 0.33 seconds), triple camera with artificial intelligence (main sensor of 13 megapixels) and iManager, a tool that promises good performance and management of the cell phone without the user having to intervene.

The Y11s is the entry model with which Vivo arrives in Mexico. It is a cell phone with a 6.51-inch Halo FullView screen and HD + resolution (1,600 x 720 pixels), fingerprint sensor on the side, 5,000 mAh battery (10 watt charge), dual camera (13 megapixel main sensor) and Multi-Turbo 3.0 for an optimal gaming session experience.

The performance of the unit is provided by a Snapdragon 460 and 3GB RAM. While the storage remains at 32 GB.

Price and availability

Both the Y20 and the Y11s can already be ordered through Telcel, with prices of $ 4,919 and $ 4,000 Mexican pesos, respectively.
