Pele, considered one of the best footballers of all time, had stayed away from the public sphere after suffering a depression after undergoing surgery on his hip.
The former footballer had even refused to comment on the Copa América and the Eurocup, tournaments that are currently being played.
That is why he was surprised by a sudden appearance on social networks to have a conversation with an unexpected guest.
The world soccer star made a call to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The reason was not as a dialogue between friends, but rather it was a kind of advertising spot to promote WhatsApp Pay.
With a “Hello, Pelé, king of soccer”, the businessman from the United States explained some of the main characteristics of this service, which recently started operating in Brazil. He explained everything to Pelé, who greeted him with a “Hello, Mark, King of ZapZap” in response.
You knew that or @WhatsApp lançou or payment service not Brazil? To find out how this works, eu liguei para o Rei do ZapZap, Mark Zuckerberg. I’m always making friends to chat when I need to learn something new. 😉 pic.twitter.com/NLVgo42MPy

The new WhatsApp tool was only authorized by the Central Bank to operate in Brazil since May of this year. The service can be used by customers who have debit cards from certain banks.
In response to a question from Pelé, Zuckerberg noted:
“Well, sending money to friends and family is as easy as sending a photo. It’s free and all you need is a card from one of the associated banks. No need to pay a fee, queue at the bank, or use cash. It’s just tapping on the clip icon or the plus sign to get started. ”
Finally, O Rei closed the singular dialogue with a “I can’t wait to use it with my family”, alluding to WhatsApp Pay.
