WhatsApp is testing its new audio player on Android | Digital Trends Spanish

A few weeks ago, WhatsApp started testing a new audio player in its stable version for iOS. Now, this same feature is rolling out to an Android beta via the 2.22.7.11 update.

With this new feature, people can play your audio messages outside of the app and no longer need to stay in the chat to hear them. Another outstanding aspect is that no additional configuration or adjustment is required to implement this new player.

In accordance with WaBetainfothis version is available to all users in its beta phase and it is presumed that, after the testing period, it could be used by everyone in the stable version of Android.

Currently, if we want to listen to an audio message that has been sent to us, we are forced to stay in the conversation, since if we leave it, the playback of the file stops. The new player that WhatsApp is testing allows us to leave the chat we are in and minimize the audio so that it continues to be heard in the background, which allows us to carry out other actions on the cell phone, such as participating in other conversations.

As with the Telegram application, the new tool will display a player at the top of the app, so we can leave a chat without stopping the message from playing. It should be remembered that this was one of the most requested functions by users of this popular instant messaging service.
