WhatsApp continues to increase the number of people who can be active in a group, since if may decided to set at 512 people the limit, they are now testing the figure of 1024 people online.
In the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android and iOS, users can add more than a thousand participants in a group. The feature is currently only available to a limited number of beta testers, but it’s safe to assume it will be released more widely soon.
WABetaInfo also claims that WhatsApp is working on new tools that should give administrators more ways to handle large groups. These include a membership approval systemas well as a list of pending group participantswhich allows group admins to see all the people requesting to join the group and approve them all at once.
WhatsApp also recently announced the communitieswhich is a way of connecting different groups into a single “community”, were released in a limited release in August.
