Video calls reached WhatsApp Web through Messenger rooms, a service announced by Facebook in April 2020.

Message read without appearing as read

Unread message on WhatsApp Web.

WhatsApp Web also allows you to read the last message of a conversation without the sender seeing the dreaded blue reading confirmation marks (in case both have them activated). First of all, make sure you’re not on the chat you want to go unnoticed with. When you get a message, all you have to do is hover over the conversation, without clicking, and let the content display (as shown in the image above). Ready! You know how to read the last message without leaving a trace.

Files between desktop and mobile

Share files on WhatsApp.

If you want to send a photo from the PC to the cell phone, or vice versa, you can use WhatsApp. Before, you need to create a “group” in which you are the only member. You can check this article to know how to do it.

Now, go to the group you created, press the clip icon and choose if you want to send an image or a document. When you’ve selected it, hit the submit button. What follows is to open the WhatsApp app on your phone (in case you started on your computer), go to the group and check that you have the file.

Two WhatsApp accounts at the same time

If you are one of those who have two WhatsApp accounts, one personal and one for work, for example, you can have them open on your computer at the same time.

Activate the one you use most frequently in the desktop app. To review the other, open an incognito window, type the address of WhatsApp Web in the search bar. In the new interface, scan the code with the corresponding cell phone. Ready! You already have two active accounts on the same computer.

Log out from your cell phone

This trick is aimed especially for the forgetful or those who need to close their WhatsApp Web session due to a security issue. From the phone, in the main interface of the platform, press the three dots in the upper right part (Android); in the options that are displayed, choose Linked devices. The devices in which you have open sessions will appear. Click on the one in which you want to close the session; confirm the action.
