The origin of the current coronavirus pandemic is still a mystery. At the beginning of this year, the World Health Organization (WHO) sent a delegation to Wuhan, a Chinese city where the first cases of contagion were registered.
However, the international body was not satisfied with the investigation due to the series of obstacles that the Chinese authorities would have put up at that time.
For this reason, the WHO is now planning a new investigation to determine how the current pandemic originated. The team that will be part of this study should be announced this week.
This new investigation will materialize despite the extensive period that has elapsed since the first registered infections and that occurred in Wuhan in late 2019.
According to WHO members, this new team of researchers represents an attempt by the agency to establish an objective approach to determine how the health crisis began.
In the coming days a new warning is also expected from the WHO, which will seek to prevent people from trusting themselves in the face of the evolution of the pandemic.
According to Maria Van Kerkhove, head of disease management, the coronavirus is not yet under control, despite the fact that many mistakenly claim that the worst part of the crisis is over.
In the same way, the official announced that this new team of researchers will be made up of some two dozen virologists, geneticists, animal experts and specialists in safety and protection.
