The dad of sonic the hedgehogYuji Naka, is in trouble in Japan, having been arrested for an insider trading case.
The scandal centers on former Square Enix employee Taisuke Sazaki, who obtained information that the mobile game Dragon Quest Touch it was being co-created by game developers Square Enix and Aiming. Sazaki and another former Square Enix employee, Fumiaki Suzuki, they allegedly bought 162,000 shares in Aiming between December 2019 and February 2020 for approximately 47.2 million yen (about $336,760) before the public announcement of the project on February 5, 2020.

Naka was allegedly aware of the Aiming deal and bought 10,000 shares for approximately 2.8 million yen (about $20,000) before it was publicly announced. Naka worked with Square Enix in the game Balan Wonderworld between 2018 and 2021. The three men have been arrested on insider trading charges.
“We have been fully cooperating with requests from the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission,” Square Enix said in a statement. an official statement after the arrests. “We are deeply sorry for the great concern this has caused all concerned.
